With so many people so busy these days, the number one complaint is that we do not eat right. How do we insure we get our vitamins and minerals, when we cannot always eat a balanced meal? The modern man and woman almost always supplement s their diet with chewable vitamins like vitamin c, or multi vitamins. If their choice isn t chewable it is a daily tablet. Vitamin c is a popular choice however as an added vitamin above and beyond what is provided to us in our daily supplements.

Throat lozenges and candies are infused with vitamin c. We are often chewing on some sort of vitamin c product especially when we have the onset of a sore throat or cold.

Why Is Chewable Vitamin C So Popular?

Vitamin C seems to be the vitamin we all turn to in our times of illness for the simple fact that it is proven to be a fighter of many symptoms of colds and flu. Throat lozenges offer us chewable forms of vitamin c, so as to ensure that we are dosing ourselves when we feel a spell of illness working into our system. There is much scientific study backing the foundation that vitamin c, whether chewable, powder, capsule or naturally consumed is a immune booster and a super nutrient for making us feel well.

Now in lots of product vitamin C is being used. Milk, juice, water and other daily regularly consumed foods are being enhanced with vitamin c. Kid s treats involving anything to do with fruit and fruit flavour especially chewy candy is vitamin c enriched. There is a definite craze for the nutrient vitamin c and its benefits.

Supplements In Chewable Vitamin C Form.

If you are dealing with vitamin c in chewable form a large number of supplements are available for your selection. There are 500mg doses, and 1000mg doses and even higher.Vitamin c is available in various flavours which ranges from, orange, blueberry, tutti fruitti, cherry , fruit punch and many more. They can come as a hard powder chewable vitamin c tablet or a chewy gummy candy.

In the end the results are the same, as it has been proven there is no difference between ascorbic acid as a synthetic or as a naturally sourced product. In fact the main difference in most of the products is the addition of other vitamins and minerals to enhance their appeal to the marketplace. The real magic happens after consuming the vitamin c, as it is up to your body to absorb as much as possible. Anything that is not absorbed is quickly passed in urine. So as to your preference a chewable vitamin c tablet is just as good as having some orange juice and even milk followed by some balanced meals through the day.

You Should Consult A Physician First

Your external appearance and beauty of your hair contributes a lot to your personality. It is for this simple reason that there is too much rush for buying the cosmetic products.

The market today is flooded with a variety of cosmetic products which offer all kind s of hair loss solutions and hair loss cures. But many of them are simply preying on vulnerable men whose insecurity about becoming bald is making them desperate. So be careful before you invest your money and expectations in something that will disappoint you.

Before you choose a hair loss remedy, it is always better to consult a doctor first if you are suffering from hair loss. Hair loss can take place due to various medical conditions. It is quite possible that that your hair loss problem is not of permanent in nature and could be cured by some simple treatments.

Do not let over-the-counter drugs fool you. You must first diagnose the actual cause of your problem and then search for the right kind of remedy.

Herbal hair loss remedies
Herbal hair loss solutions play important role in countering hair problems. Herbal remedies have always been popular in traditional Indian and Chinese medications. Of late, they have been dominating the Western world as well.
Reasons for their popularity
There are mainly two reasons for their popularity. First, they have fewer side effects. They are the ideal hair loss cures if you are looking for safe, risk free procedures. Second, they are very effective. No, they won't cure your hair loss overnight, but you may certainly notice a difference in the thickness, strength, volume and sheen in your hair after using a herbal hair loss remedy. Herbal remedies increase circulation, disinfect the scalp and stimulate hair growth. There are some herbal remedies which also block the synthesis of DHT ( dihydrotestosterone) the natural inhibitor of hair growth.

Herbal Hair Loss Treatments
Some of the herbal hair loss cures that you may find useful are as follows:

Green tea (Camellia sinesis) - Catechins in green tea inhibit the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase that converts testosterone into hair-unfriendly DHT. Therefore drinking green tea everyday is a fruitful treatment for male pattern baldness.

Ayurvedic Antistress Tea – Consuming this mixed drink of Nardostachys jatamamsi and Bacopa monnieri 2 to 3 times a day relieves stress and prevents hair loss.

Ginko biloba - It intensifies blood circulation to the scalp and skin. Consuming 120-160mg of dry Ginko extract every day can keep your hair follicles rejuvenated.

Saw palmetto (Seranoa repens) – This herb is known for slowing hair loss and encouraging hair regrowth. It is a core element of many hair loss formulations. The recommended dose is a 160mg capsule twice each day.

He Shou Wu (Polygonum multiflorum) - This Chinese herb is used in many commercial preparations for hair loss remedy.

Pygeum (Pygeum africanum) - Used to treat prostate problems and male pattern baldness. Recommended dosage is 60-500mg per day.

Stinging Nettle (Urtica diocia) - It blocks the conversion of testosterone into DHT. It delivers wonderful results if taken in combination with Pygeum and Saw Palmetto.

If you are choosing a cosmetic hair product for your self, read its label carefully. Choose a product that is based on the above herbal supplements or contain the natural hair care products.

Besides these herbal remedies there are various dietary supplements which are essential for supplying the adequate nutrition to the hair follicles and ensure good health to your hair. Eating a diet rich in vitamins, minerals, and protein is the best hair loss remedy one can choose.

Out of the 400 species of the Aloe family, Aloe Vera (meaning True Aloe) has been used for thousands of years and is still present in varieties of medicines today.

It is used predominantly as an herbal remedy for the skin, digestion, the reproductive system and detox. A gel or pulp can be extracted from the plants for many benefits, both externally and internally.

Primary Use Is For Skin

It is most commonly used to treat skin conditions by soothing the skin and easing pain and inflammation. It can even speed up the healing process of burns, eczema and other conditions. The plant’s gel can be rubbed to reduce redness after a couple of days. Rubbing the leaf over cuts in the skin can prevent infection and speed up the healing process by acting like a bandage. Because of its healing and moisturising benefits to the skin, it has been adopted by cosmetic companies and added in many products.

Aloe Vera Juice

The juice of Aloe Vera can be extracted by cutting the leaf, collecting the juice and then evaporating it. The juice has many benefits when drunk. This is partially due to the fact that it contains twelve vitamins (including A, B1, B6, B12, C and E), nineteen amino acids and over 20 minerals, which most of these are essential to the body. In Ayurveda, the Indian health practice, Aloe Vera is known as Kumari (‘the princess’) because of its positive effect on the menstrual cycle and female reproductive system. It is also known for its ability to clean the liver and protect the digestive system by reducing intestinal inflammation.

Overall, Aloe Vera can be used for cosmetics and healing the skin, or when consumed, as a potent cleansing and rejuvenating tonic that is very nutrient rich and beneficial to the body. It is made only from the unfiltered inner gel of the whole plant, not the outer rind, which means less processing and more active ingredients are retained.

My brother is really into natural foods. He spends a lot of time growing herbs and using them for a variety of ailments and buys a lot of food and food ingredients in a natural food store.

And he's a vegetarian. And while I'm a proponent of eating healthy and using more natural resources to improve my health, I still enjoy a steak or cheeseburger, too. In moderation!

My Brother and Wheatgrass

The other day I was over at my brother's house and he wanted to know if I'd ever had wheatgrass. No, I told him, I hadn't. Well, he was just mixing up some wheatgrass juice and wanted me to try it. I was thinking more along the lines of a Miller Lite. But, not surprisingly, my brother didn't hasve any beer, so I decided, what the heck, I'm game. He poured me a small glass of wheatgrace juice. It was awful. A little sweet, but not very appetizing. I said it tastes like grass. He said, "it Is! Why do you think cows always look so content? They feel great because they eat grass all day." I said, "How do you know cows feel great? Did one of them tell you that? Besides, those are all dairy cows. All they do is sit around all day and eat and rest." He laughed and said that wheatgrass, especially when it's fresh and green, is full of chlorophyll, which is one of the healthiest things you can eat. It's a cure-all for what ails you." I couldn't help thinking of one of that Old West medicine man who traveled from town to town selling his Mighty Elixir.

I’m not really sure what the actual benefits of wheatgrass are, but itsure tastes awful. But I took another sip. It tasted so bad that it just has to be really good for you. Whatever the benefits of wheatgrass are, I don’t think I could drink that stuff everyday but lately I’m trying to. I’ve been on a sort of mission to determine what the plant does.

I Started To Feel Good

I have to admit, drinking a shot of wheatgrass does kind of make me feel really good. That is after I’m done hacking, wheezing, and trying not to vomit all over the place. My brother is always drinking the stuff, and it seems like whenever I go out to lunch with him he convinces me to try it again. There must be some benefits of wheatgrass consumption, because since he’s started on it he’s lost weight, gotten two promotions, met the woman of his dreams and proposed to her, and recently won a new car in a random contest he entered.

The Jury's Still Out On Wheatgrass

I was talking to my doctor about the benefits of wheatgrass a little while back, and he actually looked at me and said ‘I’m not really sure’. It’s probably the only time I’ve ever heard a doctor say that, so it left an impression on me. Anyway, he of course went on into some lecture about vitamins and antioxidants, which he suspected were in wheatgrass, and how all that stuff can help you avoid things like cancer and generally live longer. None of what he said was really all that interesting to me; I wanted women and cars and more money. While my doctor is convinced that my brother’s good fortune of late has nothing to do with the wheatgrass, I don’t think he knows what he’s talking about. The connection is obvious.

It’s pretty awful stuff, but I’m trying to drink it more often these days to find out for myself what the benefits of wheatgrass may be. So far I haven’t had much luck. Actually, since I started drinking it more regularly in the last two weeks I’ve been hit by a car, my girlfriend left me, my computer died, and I’ve gotten two parking tickets. But I do feel better physically! I'll report back to you on my progress.

The amount of information available about vitamins today is almost overwhelming.

But that's actually an improvement over several decades ago when most people gave vitamins or natural supplements little thought. Even doctors used to say that we can get all the vitamins we need from our daily diet. They didn't used to know that smoking is linked to cancer either!

Medical Profession Emphasizes Corrective measures

Now many doctors recommend that people take at least a daily multivitamin, and there is a growing trend in the medical professions for doctors to learn more about nutrition and vitamins and how they affect health. Even now, however, many medical schools don't offer much in their curricula in terms of nutrition, vitamin or natural supplement intake and their role in staying healthy. That's partly because in the West doctors are trained to treat disease. They don't necessarily learn very much about how vitamins or natural supplements can keep you healthy. We've got all sorts of high tech interventions, drugs and therapies that save lives. It's almost like magic. But vitamins and natural remedies can play a role in helping many of us avoid the need for drugs and invasive medical procedures down the road.

Food Processing Dilutes Nutritional Value

Back to the idea of getting all the vitamins we need from our daily diet. That may have actually been more true 100 years ago than it is today. Now so much of our food is cut, dried, canned, pounded, extracted, packaged and repackaged, in other words highly processed that many of the vitamins that promote health are lost in the process. Having the food production and distribution system that we now have means that fewer people go hungry, but it also means that a lot of what's filling our stomachs doesn't contain enough nutrients for optimal health. That means taking vitamin supplements or natural is a very good idea. Eating as many fresh vegetables, fresh fruits and whole grains as possible helps too. In earlier times, those were the main elements of people's day-to-day diets.

Recommended Resources

Subscribing to a newsletter, such as Andrew Weil's, Dr. Susan Lark's or Dr. David Williams' is a great way to learn more about vitamins. Each of them sell 30-day supplies of multivitamin formulas that you can order online or by phone. Some formulas are made just for women, some for athletes, some for seniors and some for certain medical conditions. Some vitamins will agree with you more than others. The thing to do is read up on them a little bit, try some and see if your overall energy and resistance to illness increases.

The Case For Adding Nutritional Supplements To Your Diet

Nutritional supplements are a subject of some controversy among medical professionals. Some feel that a proper diet is all that's needed to keep you healthy, while others see a legitimate case for the judicious use of vitamin and mineral supplements.

Let's take a look at some of the reasons you may want to add nutritional supplements to your healthy eating plan.

1) Nutritional Composition In Same Food Type Is Not Consistent

The commercial vegetable grower may not practice crop rotation, growing his green beans in the same location year after year. This causes soil depletion, robbing the crop of many valuable nutrients. The green bean that ends up on your dinner plate may not contain the vitamins and minerals a nutritional table leads you to expect. Many vitamins and minerals work in concert. If one is missing, another partner nutrient in the food may not be absorbed. There you have one case begging for nutritional supplements.

2) Nutritional Supplement Assimilation By Our Bodies Varies With Age

As we age, certain nutrients become more difficult for our bodies to assimilate. This is particularly true of the B vitamins. Children and teens require some nutrients in greater amounts than adults. Calcium, magnesium and zinc are especially important, as are vitamin A, C and E. Moreover, calcium, magnesium and zinc must be in specific ratios to do their jobs and many processed foods skew these ratios or even eliminate them, rendering them virtually useless. The teenager's bane of skin blemishes is often due to inadequate amounts of vitamins A, C and E. People with poor night vision usually suffer from a lack of vitamin A. Do you bruise easily? Perhaps a lack of vitamin D is the culprit.

3) Certain Diseases Or Health Conditions Can Be Improved By Nutritional Supplements

Certain diseases and health conditions can be partially or completely remedied with proper nutritional supplements. For example, some women are more prone to yeast infections than others. Causes may be genetic or dietary. Yeast feeds on sugar, so excessive sugar intake may promote these infections. At the same time, vitamin K helps keep the bacteria candiasis in check with a proper balance of 'good' and 'bad' bacteria. Therefore, some women may benefit from nutritional supplements of vitamin K.

4) Quality Can Vary For The Same Supplement

It's important to note that nutritional supplements are not all equally effective. Often, the cheaper supplements are not in a form that's readily absorbed or may even have undesirable side effects. Vitamin C made from rose hips are more readily absorbed and does not irritate your stomach like vitamin C derived from ascorbic acid. There's much to know when it comes to choosing the right nutritional supplements. It's a good idea to consult with a knowledgeable person at your local health food store or visit an online vendor of supplements to be sure you're getting a product your body can use.

Consult Your Physician Before You Start

Nutritional supplements can be a boon to your health when properly chosen and applied. Your family physician can provide valuable information on supplements as they may relate to your specific conditions. Do yourself a favor and look into the possible benefits for you and your family. To your good health!

I don’t think there is any person in the whole wide world who doesn’t want to continue looking young, even after they have passed middle age.

Everyone
, no matter how young or old they actually are, would like to look and feel young. This is not just related to the aesthetic appearance based things but also to general health and well being. Nobody likes the wrinkles and pains that old age brings with it. Which is why, anti-aging research has been the one industry where billions of dollars have been pumped in over the past few years. All of it in the quest for anti aging treatments!

Genuine Anti-Aging Treatment Starts From Within

When one uses the phrase ‘anti aging treatments’, the first thing that comes to mind is anti wrinkle creams! In fact, these creams have become almost synonymous with anti aging treatments and have thus given the entire genre a stunted and narrow definition. But anti aging treatments are about much more than merely removing the wrinkle from one's face. Anti aging treatments are all about holistically treating the aging human body to make it look and feel young. And this involves much more than the merely superficial. Although looking young is most evident in the physical appearance, it has a lot more to do with the overall health and fitness of the body. And genuine anti aging treatments will concentrate on the inner well being as a precursor to external appearance.

But the world of anti wrinkle creams, face stretching creams and the like have given the entire field of anti aging treatments a bad name. Superficial anti aging treatments treat merely the external body. But even then, superficial anti aging treatments are a multi-million dollar industry. Studies estimate that nearly 80% of the over the counter drugs and creams sold as part of anti aging treatments actually belong to the superficial or external cosmetic category. And when the industry itself is worth several billion dollars, you can believe that a lot of the claims about the anti-aging benefits about Product X are mere hype.

Try To Slow The Natural Aging Process

But more important than using anti aging products, is learning to choose the ones that are beneficial. It is not true to say that all prescribed anti aging products are beneficial. In fact, any cosmetic anti aging product brings with it a certain amount of side effects. This is because anti aging product go against nature as it were. They try to reverse and sustain what is essentially a natural degradation of the human body. And anything that tries to reverse the natural, naturally faces resistance. This resistance could take the form of mild, rashes and pains. But if intensive chemical anti aging treatments like invasive surgery, botox injections and the like are used, they could leave more serious effects like scarring and freezing of the facial tissue.

Let's Move Back To The Farm!

However, there is a school of thought that anti aging treatments are a recourse adopted by the busy and the stressed out population as a way to regain their youth. It has been found for instance that almost all anti aging treatments are used by urban and cosmopolitan dwellers. Rural dwellers on the other hand, scarcely feel the need to use anti aging treatment. Their simple lives help them live longer and fitter lives.

I've asked a friend of mine who has suffered from ADHD, or ADD, all his life to write a short post on the subject, and in particular, some alternative or natural treatments to ADHD that appear to be effective.

use acronyms throughout this, so you should know that ADD stands for Attention Deficit Disorder, and ADHD for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

Background

I am an ADHD expert…to ONLY myself, to only my particular disorder, also know. So as I write, I do so from a place of 40 plus years of history of the disorder, of diagnosis in only the last four years, and of having self-medicated (with street drugs) and later having researched and engaged in therapy and medical treatment for my ADHD.

ADHD is thought by many to be a child's disorder, which of course it is, but many sufferers like me are never diagnosed so we carry ADHD into our adult lives. When ADD or ADHD first appears in a child's behavior, it is usually interpreted incorrectly by the parents. The child can't concentrate or focus on anything for very long, so he or she has difficulty taking tests or completing homework assignments and has problems in school and is thought to be stupid and perhaps teased by classmates. But the child is not stupid at all. In fact, the child might get A's in a couse he or she really likes but an F in one that doesn't really interest him. Or the child may be overly energetic and disruptive in class. Teachers are more knowledgeable about ADD these days, because for years the cause of the problematic behavior was not properly diagnosed.
Adults who have ADD or ADHD usually have had it since childhood, and their disorder remained undiagnosed until ironically their child was diagnosed with the problem. They recognize that they had the same symptoms as their child when they were young.
Alternative Treatment Options

But I would like to share with you the ADHD alternative treatment methods I have learned about along the forty-year journey of hell and heaven, too.
First, know that while street meth is not a legitimate ADHD alternative treatment, it is what one MD says clever of you to try. That is, many intelligent, proactive individuals who have ADHD but have not been diagnosed and are at their wits’ end trying to “cure” themselves will do what is called self-medicating. So don’t be ashamed or overly obsessed with the esteem issues that come with street drug use. Just get to a doctor or psychiatrist for diagnosis and understanding of the disorder.
Then, weigh the options available to you by reading whatever you can: read magazines, books, on- and offline articles. Find the works devoted strictly to ADHD and written by experts and professionals in the field, including the following (listed here in no particular order): David Sudderth, Joseph Kandel, Thom Hartmann, Sari Solden, Thomas Whiteman, Michelle Novotni, Kate Kelly, and Peggy Ramundo.
At this point you will have come across the “traditional” or most common treatments, such as psychotherapy and drug (Amphetamine, Ritalin, etc. Al.) therapy combined, and will have found some ADHD alternative treatments, as well. These include such alternatives as the following:
HOMEOPATHIC/NONTRADITIONAL MEDICINES

Some turn away from western medicine to such alternatives as acupressure—a healing technique that has been successfully applied for smoking habits, weight problems, anxiety disorders, fertility issues, and even HDHD symptoms. As of 1997, the Lincoln Hospital Recovery Center in Bronx, New York, for example, administers acupressure treatments to those with ADHD. They have had remarkable results: kids have been positively impacted in regards to their sleep and hyperactivity patterns, blood pressure and depression problems, studying and participating, working, and just sitting…calmly and without the “mind spinning” so familiar to those with ADHD.
ENERGY HEALING

Reiki and Therapeutic Touch, for instance, are energy healing approaches that work on the premise that the human being is a dynamic being, connected by physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional components. Energy healing methods seek to balance these components, so in the person with ADHD, the symmetry that results is said to be calming—slowing the activity down so the person can focus, is less anxious, and is less intrusive and defiant.
DIETARY CHANGES

A close investigation of foods that are or contain allergens and irritants to the nervous system has revealed the possibility of ADDers being especially negatively impacted. ADD treatments in this area include eliminating or curbing intake of white flour, sugar, and/or additives/preservatives. But the controversy still roars on this one, and FDA and other regulatory bodies have not acknowledged the veracity of gross dietary changes…yet.

NUTRITIONAL SUPPLEMENTS

Much attention has been paid to holistic treatment, other ADHD alternative treatment, and vitamin therapies. And many vitamin sources claim to help alleviate such symptoms as inability to focus, edginess, and sleep problems. But as with any ingesting therapies, inappropriate application can lead to damaging results on other parts of the body and brain. So what most specialists will acknowledge as important is nutritional balance, antioxidant vitamin supplements (A, E, for example), and/or a multi-vitamin…though as with many alternatives they will not attest to any remarkable cures or absolute recovery, which has yet to be proved, documented, and announced…for now, anyway.

An effective nutritional strategy for the treatment of type 2 diabetes

If you, or someone you know, is one of the millions of people living with type 2 diabetes, you know what a struggle it is to manage your diet and keep your blood sugar level in check.

What you may not know is that it is possible to reduce your blood sugar levels to a normal count, even reversing the progress of this dangerous condition to the extent that you never develop diabetic retinopathy or suffer an amputation due to the nerve damage induced by the diabetic condition. Here are some sound nutritional strategies for the treatment of type 2 diabetes that can make you a former diabetic! You'll always need to maintain good eating habits, but you can prevent many complications and live a normal life.

Many Sufferers Are Older

Many people with type 2 diabetes are older and this presents problems in maintaining adequate nutrition. As we age, we are less able to absorb certain vitamins and minerals necessary to good health. All of the nutrients we need work in concert, to some degree and there are inter-dependencies. If you are deficient in one nutrient, other nutrients may not be able to do the job they should be doing. Ask your physician to do the lab work to determine any nutritional deficiencies you now have, and get a recommendation on any supplements you need to correct these deficiencies. Being fully stocked up on all the vitamins and minerals necessary is a huge step forward in the effective treatment of type 2 diabetes.

More Frequent, Smaller Meals Are Better

If you are eating the recommended three squares, try eating six small meals each day. This allows your body to metabolize foods in a more measured way, helping to keep your blood sugar more stable, without taxing your pancreas.

Switch To Sugar Substitutes

You know that sugar is just plain bad for you. This is because it goes straight to your blood, with no intermediate process of metabolizing. This is why a candy bar gives the non-diabetic an instant rush of energy. It's so important to avoid sugar like the plague. Many products, from soda to canned fruit, are now being made with Splenda(TM). Splenda(TM) truly does satisfy the sweet urges and is highly recommended in the treatment of type 2 diabetes patients.

Stay Away From "Bad" Carbs

Carbohydrates are one of the most puzzling parts of good nutrition to the type 2 diabetic patient. Doctors typically tell diabetes patients to limit their intake of carbohydrates to a certain number per day. What's puzzling is knowing which to choose. Here are some guidelines on specific carbohydrate foods which are of especial use in the treatment of type 2 diabetes.

You know you've got to watch the bread! It's just that all breads are not created equal. While two slices of regular white bread may contain about 30 carbs, this is a poor choice when compared with a whole grain bread which may have 40 carbs in an equal amount. It turns out that there are "good" carbs and "bad" carbs. You need to avoid the bad carbs, which generally are white, while the good carbs are brown. This is the basic rule of thumb. Although the whole grain bread contains more carbs, it also contains more fiber and nutrients that you, as a diabetic, need. Also know that, to correctly determine the number of carbs in any food, you must subtract the grams of fiber from the total number of carbs. The high fiber content also helps your body to 'sweep' your digestive system and flush out toxins. Removing toxins is an important component in the treatment of type 2 diabetes.

Eat The Right Vegetables

With vegetable choices, be smart. Eat onions and garlic in abundance, adding them in to salads, soups and meat dishes. Both are rich in inulin, which mimics insulin. The same is true of parsley. Load up on any of the cruciferous veggies, like broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage. Kim-Chee is a pickled cabbage, a Korean specialty, in a very spicy brine which contains hot peppers. The hot peppers are excellent for vascular health, so you get double your value in this food. Indian cuisine includes many cauliflower dishes in combination with a curry seasoning, which includes a healthy dose of turmeric. Turmeric is known to lower blood sugar levels. In fact, diabetes is virtually unknown in the non-Westernized, traditional Indian populations.

Treatment of type 2 diabetes must always include a regimen that protects the heart and kidneys, in order to avoid some of the complications diabetes can bring. The omega-3 fatty acids present in cold water fish are so valuable to the diabetic patient, you can hardly eat too much. These fatty acids regulate cholesterol levels, reduce high blood pressure and relieves psoriasis, probably due to the selenium content. Psoriasis is a common problem in diabetics, who are typically deficient in selenium.

While all nutrients are important in the treatment of type 2 diabetes, there are a few to which you should pay close attention. The B vitamins become more difficult to absorb as we age. Nerve damage is characteristic of type 2 diabetes and an adequate supply of vitamin B6 is essential to controlling this damage. Zinc plays an important role in good health and nutritional treatment of type 2 diabetes. Chromium is a trace mineral which facilitates the use of insulin and suppresses cravings for sugar. Each of these nutrients may be taken as supplements.

Eating smart, avoiding sugar, managing your carbohydrate intake, and a regular program of exercise can help you beat diabetes! A wonderful prospect, wouldn't you agree?
