Anti-aging, staying young, looking younger or just feeling younger is a multimillion dollar industry. There's a really good reason for it. We have an ever-aging generation.

The Baby Boomers and those younger than they are experiencing the longest life expectancies in history. This generation is one of the largest generations on the planet. And quite naturally, there's a huge number of this group who do not want to grow old. Therefore, anti-aging products are rampant in the marketplace. But don't get 'taken' by the unnecessary products that play on the emotions of those who wish to look young. You can keep those wrinkles away by changing your lifestyle.

There are four secrets tips that will allow you to avoid the risks of buying certain products that are not needed:

Secret Tip #1: Feed Your Face
If you feed your face with anti-aging food on a consistent basis, you'll find it easier to stay young. Another way to say this is to just make sure you're not feeding your body full of junk that is sure to perpetuate the aging process. Also, know that if you try to escape the eating step, you'll grow older faster. The body knows what it needs. Just give it to your body.

Secret Tip #2: Pick Something or Go Somewhere
In other words, get up off the couch, turn the TV off and do some anti-aging activities. This doesn't have to be work either. Find an activity or two that you enjoy. Walk, run, weight train, ride a bike, get on a pogo stick. Do anything that causes your body to move and exert some activity. This will allow your body to stay young by stretching muscles and keeping you limber at the same time.

Secret Tip #3: Don't Be A Party Pooper
Mentioned above for the #2 Anti-Aging Secret Tip was finding something you enjoy. That's the whole secret of this entire article. Find something you have fun doing. Just know this, if drinking alcohol into a drunken stupor is the one thing you enjoy, you are not going stay young for very long. In fact, if you're older in age and you're doing this you may not even enjoy staying old. The key to the entire process of anti-aging is to treat your body right and have fun doing it.

Secret Tip #4: Keep Exercising Your Brain

With the fact that people are living longer and longer, it's not surprising that dementia and Alzheimer's Disease are becoming more common. Hey, fifty years ago the life expectancy was in the low sixties, so people were dead before Alzheimer's could strike them. Now with people living to 80 or older, this cruel disease is touching many more people. However, research indicates that persons who keep their minds active do not get dementia as often as those who just spend their golden years just sitting around and doing little that's mentally challenging. The solution? Read! Read! Read! Books, magazines, newspapers. Challenge your mind! My wife is addicted to crossword puzzles, which is a great way to keep your mind sharp.

Get Your Grandparents To Surf The Internet

I don't have to tell you this because you're on-line reading a blog. You've embraced the Internet. But there a lot of Baby-Boomers who didn't grow up with computers and just don't realize what an amazing medium the Internet is. It opens up new vistas and areas of interest to the user, and if you could convince you're parents or uncle or aunt to get a computer and discover the Internet, you'll be doing them a favor. It could change their lives. Nearly everyone younger than the Baby Boomers grew up with computers and already use the Internet extensively. So this void is most prevalent among Baby Boomers.

Enjoy life, stay young mentally, emotionally, physically and you'll see an anti-aging process that you'll be happy about. That will give you the motivation and momentum to continue the lifestyle of anti-aging.There's no reason why you can't stay young!

Only One Sure Way

I know what you're thinking: If you want to avoid a hangover.....DON 'T DRINK! But unfortunately, some of us are not that strong.

And if you're Irish, like me, it's nearly impossible to avoid social situations where drinking is going on because nearly all social situations involve drinking. So this is for those rare times when you might have been a little"overserved."

Hangovers can ruin your day, and generally make it impossible to focus on anything other than laying in bed and moaning. For most people, hangovers make regular heavy drinking not worthwhile, and probably for the best! People that tend to get mild or no hangovers are at a much greater risk for alcoholism. Sometimes however you know you’re going to be in a social situation that will be hard not to drink a little too much. Maybe a wedding, a New Year's party, or some other event is coming up and you know you’re going to overdo it. For me it used to be going to a Cubs or Bears game (accent on "used to be"). Here are some tips to try to help prevent getting a hangover the morning after.

Tips On Avoiding Hangovers

First of all, make sure you’ve got something in your stomach. Drinking on an empty stomach is like kissing your rear end goodbye and almost a guaranteed way to get a bad hangover. You’ll also get drunker faster, which may sound great but it is not without its consequences. I've got a news flash for you. It's fun to get a little happy when you're drinking the bubbly, but getting drunk is a bummer. You look like a drunk to anyone else who's not also drunk, and there's nothing uglier than a drunk. And if that drunk is you--well, you get the picture. Eating beforehand, and having plenty of snacks while you drink will go a long way to prevent a hangover, but won’t do it completely if you really push it. This is one of the reasons why nuts and other snacks are so popular in bars; it’s not just a tasty snack, its nutrition to prevent a hangover. That's one take on the subject. The other is that the bar owner puts out free salty snacks to make people thirstier. The truth is probably somewhere in between.

Drink Plenty Of Water

Just as important as eating is drinking plenty of water or non-diuretic fluids in addition to your booze. This is especially important prior to going to bed. In the two to three hour period before sleep, the more non-alcoholic clear fluids you drink the better. Also, it’s a good idea to have a final snack a few hours prior to sleeping. Make sure you leave plenty of time between your last drink and going to sleep as well. Drinking booze right up until bedtime is going to really cost you the next day. Take it from me. I'm the Voice of Experience.

Hangover Pills

You can try hangover prevention pills if you like, but they never worked for me, or anyone I know. Maybe they work for some people? Some people remember to take some aspirin before they go to bed. Most people are too drunk to remember it.

Back To The Beginning

Of course, the best way to prevent a hangover is to avoid alcohol like I said in the opening. Hopefully you realize that it is in fact alcohol that causes hangovers, and so any amount of alcohol consumption drastically increases your chance of getting a hangover the next day. Abstaining is the best way to prevent a hangover, but if your reading this I’m assuming you are going to be drinking anyway. Food, fluids, and moderation then are my best advice to prevent a hangover.

My only real serious advice is that if you do drink a little too much at some point over the holidays...Don't Drive! Otherwise have a Merry Christman and a Happy Holiday and a Happy New Year!

One of my most miserable experiences was several years ago one when I was invited out on Lake Michigan one sunny summer day to ride on a friend's sailboat.

was a big one--technically a yacht I guess. He invited five other people and we had food and beverages for a floating party. My friend and a crewmember did all the heavy lifting. We just were there for the ride. Everything was great until a storm blew in from the west that was pretty nasty. The sky turned dark, the water choppy, the wind picked up, and before you knew it we were in a squall. The boat was pitching from side to side, up and down, from side to side, up and down. It took only minutes for all the guest to turn green and deposit their lunch into the lake. I was so sick I thought I was going to give up the ghost. Anybody who has been seasick or carsick knows what I'm talking about. Too bad I hadn't read this post before I went out on my adventure!

Right up there with a bad hangover or food poisoning, a bad case of motion sickness is one of the most miserable experiences you can have. The whole world spins around you, and you can’t ever remember feeling more nauseous. Motion sickness can spoil an otherwise fun cruise, make a day of traveling by plane a total nightmare, and even ruin a good road trip. There are fortunately several motion sickness remedies that can help avoid this from happening to you.

Motion Sickness Is Partly Psychological

Some people are more prone to motion sickness than others, but even if you’ve never had it you’re still at risk. Indeed, even the most seasoned travelers and sailors can suddenly become motion sick. Motion sickness is party psychological, so some motion sickness remedies focus on different ways of getting you mind off of the problem. Don’t think about feeling sick, think about what a good time you’re having. Just imagining feeling sick can often bring it on if you are already experiencing some motion sickness symptoms.

Focus You Eves On The Horizon

If you’re in a boat or car, getting some fresh air may serve as a good motion sickness remedy. Roll the window down, or stand up on the deck awhile. Breath deeply and slowly. Spend some time with your eyes closed, or if you can, travel at night. Motion sickness occurs partly due to what you are seeing in addition to what you are feeling, so if you can’t see anything you’ll be less likely to get sick. Avoid alcohol or nicotine, as both of these can make you more likely to get nauseous. If your in a car, look at the upcoming road rather than out the sides, or even better, take a turn driving for awhile. Getting plenty of sleep before going on your trip can help as well.

Dramamine Works Well

The best motion sickness remedies for me have always been medications. Because I only travel occasionally, I don’t feel any hesitation about popping some pills when I do. I’ve found that the drug used in the medication ‘Dramamine’ works especially well. You take it an hour or so prior to getting on your plane, boat, or in your car, and it’s like magic. There are different ways of administering this medication, such as patches and wristbands and pills, and they are all effective motion sickness remedies for me.

Like everything else, what works for some people may not work for others. If you know you are prone to motion sickness you may need to do a little trial and error research for effective motion sickness remedies.

Reaching The Point Of Reckoning

I know a lot of alcoholics. I drank with them. They are my friends. For some reason I didn't get addicted, but for years I drank as much as they did, so I guess I didn't have the genetic predisposition to alcoholism.

I was one of the lucky ones. Most of my alcoholic friends are on the wagon and have been for years. They lead happy, productive lives and are loved by their friends and families. They have good jobs and do well financially. But it wasn't always that way. They reached a point where their alcoholism became too much of a burden for them. They reached a point--the Point of Reckoning--where they had to make a choice. Stop drinking or lose all the really important things they cherish. Like their families. Their careers. Their resources. Their self respect. Whatever it was, they reached a decision point. They decided to give it up. It's tough, no question. One of the hardest thing leading up to the Point Of Disgust was their denial of their problem. But it usually takes several bad experiences for them to decide to go on the wagon. The key question they had to ask themselves was this, "Do I control my drinking, or does it control me?" If the answer to that is the latter, then the time to seek help is staring at them in the mirror. Fortunately there are a variety of options available to seek help from.

Treatment Programs Won't Work Unless The Alcoholic Wants Help

At some time, people who are addicted to alcohol may have to seek treatment, either on their own, with encouragement from their families, or because it is ordered by employers, the military, or the courts. There are many treatment options available, and as said previously, it depends on what type of circumstance exists requiring the alcoholic to seek treatment. Such options include meetings with others, such as Alcoholics Anonymous, or AA, individual counseling, outpatient treatment, inpatient treatment, medications, or a combination of treatment modalities, which is most common. Stopping cold turkey is also an option, but is usually not successful, unless combined with a support environment like AA. People seeking alcohol treatment usually do so because they are at rock bottom-the Point Of Reckoning-- and many instances where alcohol has disrupted their lives and the lives of their loved ones has occurred. Treatment will not work unless the individual truly wants help.

The Alcoholics Anonymous Approach

Many alcohol treatment programs are based on the 12-step program, which is used in Alcoholics Anonymous. In this type of setting, alcoholics are encouraged to be open and share experiences, but are not required to do so. Tons of literature is available at these meetings for a nominal price or for a donation, and a variety of topics are discussed relating to the alcoholic’s individual situation. Those who are serious about quitting must seek out a sponsor, which will help them through their recovery process. This person is available to them in case they are having a weak moment or if they just need words of encouragement.

Sometimes Medication Is Necessary For Withdrawal

Alcohol treatment programs are designed to get the person back on track physically and emotionally, so that they can face their addiction and gain control of their lives. Self-esteem and self-worth is greatly distorted by the addiction, and treatment interventions include group and individual therapy to get at the root of the trauma which may have caused the cycle to begin in the first place. Recovering alcoholics may also benefit from prescribed medications, such as anti-depressants or anti-anxiety drugs to help them control they physical symptoms of withdrawal, which can only be prescribed by a medical doctor or psychiatrist.

Success Is Achievable

Recovery takes time and with the proper support and motivation, alcoholics can be successful and remain alcohol-free for the rest of their lives. As I mentioned above, most of my alcoholic friends beat their addictions. Often times the alcohol is replaced by another substance, but this is not always a bad thing. The most common is coffee or caffeine and cigarettes. I'm not advocating it, but I have an alcoholic friend who smokes pot whenever he gets the urge for a "diversion." It's better for him than alcohol. Food is also another common vice, but as every person seeking treatment is told, one thing at a time. It is just not possible to conquer every issue at once. The most serious should be addressed first, then everything else will fall in place. Take one day at a time, one hour at a time, one minute at a time, this is the best recipe for long-term success.

You are probably smart enough to try anything within reason, when it comes to attempting natural cures for depression… since so many other treatments have fallen short for you and so many efforts on your part don’t quite work.

mean, you tried prayer. You tried writing and crafting fiction and plays—solo and in collaboration—to purge yourself in a kind of catharsis that has worked in other areas of your emotional life before…. For years, every single day, you tried power walking, knowing that physical labor (of sorts) will also expunge many evils and keeping with the only form of exercise you actually liked. You tried helping others, learning in a support group that to get your mind off yourself you have to get OUT of yourself, you have to focus on those who are worse off in many ways, etc., etc..

If you are in rehab, It is only natural, as a recovering addict or alcoholic, for example, or as an ACA (adult child of alcoholics), who believes in avoiding the complications of synthetic drugs, you would lean toward natural cures for depression. Such remedies, you hope, will keep you in the forests, amongst the flora, fauna, and creatures that belong in your eco-friendly environment and life.

What Are Some Natural Cures For Depression?

So what are some of those natural cures for depression? Some use Saint John’s wort, a.k.a. Hypericum perforatum. St John’s wort is an herb that has been said to contain compounds—such as hypericin and hyperforin—which contribute to what the Greeks said would successfully “ward off evil spirits,” as it was known as the drug that would preside “over an apparition”…which is where it’s name came from.

Others use natural cures for depression that are said to simulate the SSRIs—the selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors. When the serotonin levels in your brain are off (imbalanced), your mood is plummeted. On an up and down picture representing normal to depressed moods, say, your mood would be down at the bottom. A high or happy person’s mood would be waaaay up at the top. Okay, so the SSRI draws the serotonin levels up, pools them, and traps them in a higher place. You come from the bottom, the SSRI comes from the top, and the effect/result is a leveling off somewhere in the middle.

5 Hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) and tryptophan are said to do the same thing, but are natural cures for depression versus intense chemical cures (such as Prozac, Paxil, Zoloft, for example). So 5-HTP supplements the missing or diminished amounts of serotonin and tryptophan by being what depression.org calls the “intermediate step” between the two.

Exercise Helps
Other natural cures for depression include physical and some mental efforts. Like power-walking, exercise, yoga, and some forms of meditation have been found to adjust the imbalances of serotonin and other mood stabilizing chemicals in the brain. And it goes along with the logic that visualization techniques, which therapists can help you practice, can be tailored toward the positive, to counter the misery that is depression.

I must confess I developed Type-2 Diabetes several years ago, but fortunately it's under control. I plan to share with you how I did it in this and future posts. I must underscore that it is a serious disease and you need to be aware of it and how to either prevent it from happening to you or someone in your family. Or if someone does already have it, how you can manage it.

Diabetes Is Influenced By Genetics

Type-1 Diabetes is that version that people are born with. You probably know someone who has it.

must take insulin and monitor their blood sugar levels religiously every day to stay alive.Type-2 Diabetes is the type I have and usually people develop it later in life. Generally, you can treat it with drugs and lifestyle modification (diet and exercise). If you don't do so, it will progress into a Type-1 version and you'll need to take insulin. So it's best if you take measures early and modify your diet and exercise regularly to avoid this more serious stage.

If you have any relatives who have had diabetes, you need to be vigilant and have your blood sugar levels checked regularly. This is particularly true if you are middle-aged and are carrying too much weight. If your blood sugar level is over 100-125, you are borderline diabetic and should make some modifications in your diet and lifestyle.

Preventing Diabetes

How to prevent Diabetes has been a concern for many of us since we were kids. In my own family, my baby cousin was born with diabetes, so she had to have shots injected once a day by my aunt, who just happened to be a Registered Nurse. Of course, while this many years later we have sub-lingual solutions, we have different levels of Diabetes (those not requiring shots included), and we have self-administered daily blood sugar testing. These measures can enable one to prevent Diabetes from going full speed ahead into full blown stages. Besides my cousin on my mother’s side having the disease, on my biological father’s side, my grandfather had it. Is there a surefire solution for how to prevent Diabetes, though? Yes and no. Evidently, we can “delay” such forms of the illness as Type 2 Diabetes. According to such institutions and studies as NIDDK (National Institute of Diabetes & Digestive & Kidney Diseases) and NIH (National Institute of Health), diet and exercise are found to help stave off the onset and symptoms. These findings are only reinforced by the additional smaller studies by organizations and institutes all over the world: from Finland to China, it has been found that at-risk people can slow the onset or fight the disease with aerobic exercise (with a goal of losing 2 to 7 percent body weight) and balanced, low sugar diets (with a goal of avoiding “trigger” foods). The sugars mentioned include, that is, sucrose, fructose, lactose, and other sugar forms found naturally and synthetically present in most foods. In addition, Diabetes Prevention programs set up a regimen that includes, besides diet and exercise, standard care and the drug metformin. According to CDC (Center for Disease Control), the studies applying such treatment/prevention measures found that participants who included a healthy diet, metformin, and moderate physical activity of 30 minutes a day/5 days a week, reduced their risk of getting Type 2 Diabetes by 58%!. Or they can control Diabetes if they already have it and even bring sugar levels into the normal range. I can attest to that personally.

Now the bad news. Besides cutting out sugar, you need to cut back on carbs, too. Carbohydrates convert into sugar in your body. But there are adjustments you can make to manage this. There are "good" carbs and "bad" carbs. You need to cut back on the "bad" carbs. These are mostly carbohydrates that are white--white bread, white potatoes, white rice, white pasta. Fortunately, you can substitute "brown" versions of most and not miss a beat. Whole grain bread. Brown rice, whole wheat pasta. Unfortunately, when it comes to potatoes, there is no brown version of a potato. A sweet potato is ok. Sounds strange, a "sweet" potato is ok, but it's true. Unfortunately, I don't like sweet potatoes so I haven't had many baked potatoes or french fries since I changed my eating habits. Don't get disheartened. I'll talk more about dieting on a later post.

The good news that when you know how to prevent Diabetes, you can either prevent or manage this disease and live a naturally long and high-quality life. It can be done, but it's up to you. The benefits of doing so are well worth it.

How many pounds are you planning to drop after the holidays? I guess the answer to that question is, "It depends how much I gain." So true. It reflects the fact that most of us are resigned to

weight from Thanksgiving through New Year's Day. For some, January 1 is pushed back a day or two, depending on when the big Bowl games occur. But they finally pass, and then we start our New Year's resolutions.

Try A New Approach To Weight Loss

Maybe we should re-think our whole approach to weight loss. I mean, it's like people think they don't need to be in shape during the winter. While I understand that we all wear more concealing clothes during the cold months, I don't see why it's not a factor to stay in shape. We should all work to stay fit year-round. With advanced weight loss diets and wonderful fitness regimens we can make this a reality. Stop working like a lunatic toward the end of every spring to lose those extra pounds. I mean you don't have to book a vacation to a sandy beach resort to motivate you to lose fifteen pounds. What if you can't afford to go to Cancun this year? Does that mean you can coast and forget about losing weight? What happens if you don't go to Mexico or the Carribean in the spring for a couple of years. You could end up being 30 pounds heavier by then! Remember, there's always the summer.

Let's Get Serious

It's time to come to your senses and keep them off permanently with legitimate weight loss diets that really do work. What are your current eating habits like? Think about it.

I can recall back when I was a kid and my parents would try a variety of weight loss diets. I remember one in particular that my father was doing. I sat down at the table with my brother for some lunch and there it was. While we scarfed down our ham and cheese sandwiches, our father had a plate of saltine crackers and tuna before him. It looked rather bizarre to me and my brother. Regardless, he ate it up like he was starving. And he probably was! Okay, enough jokes at my father's expense. The truth is that when it comes to weight loss diets, most people will try virtually anything to get those pounds off. From eating tons of meat and no bread, to living on fruits and vegetables, there are certainly a variety of diet plans to pick and choose from.

Consider Seeing a Nutritionist

Now, the key here is finding a nutritious diet that's right for your condition. This may require consulting a professional. Have you ever spoken with a nutritionist regarding weight loss diets? They know what the scoop is. In fact, a qualified nutritionist can help you plan out a regular weekly eating schedule.

Are you in need of some guidance concerning weight loss diets? Maybe it's time you did some serious research. With the Internet at your fingertips, the road ahead is rather simple. Get online and attain tips and weight loss diets that truly work. Sort through legitimate testimonials by others who've tried certain diets and swear by them. Stop fretting about those few extra pounds and shed them off with weight loss diets that work. If you change your eating habits even slightly, you might not have to make another New Year's resolution like the one you've been making every year for the last decade!

Make Aerobic Activity Part Of Your Routine

I can't think of a single physician or dietician who hasn't felt that aerobic activity as a regular part of your lifestyle is a key to not only better health but also a longer life. Many diseases that shorten your life--hypertension,diabetes,heart disease, stroke-- can be slowed or, in some cases eliminated, if you exercise on a regular basis. It's easier said then done. You have to really commit yourself to it.

You need to plan around it and make exercise a part of your routine. Doing it every other day should be your goal. More would be better. For me the best time is early morning. Get up an hour early and you can complete a workout, shower, and be ready to go about your day. For other people, perhaps a different part of their day would be easier to work into their schedule. My advice is to not put it off until you come home from work as you will be too tired to muster up the energy and will power to do it.

Lots Of Choices

There are all types of gizmos for aerobic activity, and if you are new to the wonderful world of exercise, it can be hard for you to sort through it all. These aerobic activity gadgets range from simple steppers, or jump ropes, to exotic machines whose function is almost impossible to sort out. The reason for all of these aerobic exercise toys is not because they are necessary, or even always useful for your exercise plan, but simply because of money. The fact is that, with the popularity of aerobic exercise, it is inevitable that people will market new fads and products that claim to make it easier, more effective, and more fun all at the same time, but all of that is nonsense. The important thing in aerobic activity is to elevate your heart rate for a sustained period of time. The key is that it is continuous and not stop-and-go exercise with little periods of rest. How you do that is entirely up to you. As long as you are exercising, you can go without the toys. That is, unless you like them in which case, I say go for it.

My Favorite Is Swimming

Some of the best forms of aerobic activity are the traditional sports. If you get together and play basketball twice a week with friends, this alone might be enough to keep you fit and healthy. The important thing is to get some kind of aerobic activity, and to make it something that you enjoy enough to keep with it. Personally, my favorite exercise form is one that quite a few experts have agreed is one of the healthiest forms of exercise workouts: swimming. The advantage of swimming is that it works the whole body at once. Most exercises, such as running or soccer, only work the legs, or at most only partially work the upper body, but when you swim there is no part of you that is not getting some kind of a workout. This is great for you, and in addition, there is no impact. Running will wear out your knees, as will many other of the popular aerobic activities, but swimming does not compress the joints, so there is no compromise to the health benefits that it holds. I love this aerobic activity, but it might not be the right one for you. The best advice I have is to join a gym for a month. This will let you try out lots of different aerobic exercises and find out which ones you like.

Try Walking

If you don't have the time or the money to do something like going to a gym or a health club, you can always try the old stand by--walking. If you go for a brisk walk for thirty or forty minutes, it's nearly as good for you as jogging. It should be brisk walking, however, enough to elevate the heart, and you can tell if you're getting it right if you're perspiring after the thirty minutes. And if you live in an area with hills or even a slight grade--that'll do just fine!

Drug and alcohol addiction treatment centers are all over the United States and most other post industrial countries. Choosing between the ones with available openings can be hard, especially if you are like everyone else and are on a limited budget.

If you are relatively wealthy or have excellent health insurance, you’re in luck and will more than likely be able to find a program with an opening. There is a good chance you’ll have to fly in somewhere, so plan on taking an extended trip.

Social Or Medical Rehab?

Although they all vary significantly, there are two basic categories that all drug and alcohol rehab centers fall into: social model and medical model. Social model addiction treatment centers emphasize therapy, discussion, counseling and group work, but generally have a limited or non-existent medical staff. These treatment centers normally will not provide detox services. Medically based addiction treatment centers have the same kinds of therapy and counseling in the social models, but also have a medical staff that includes one or more doctors. These centers will usually provide a detox center prior to treatment, and are able to administer and prescribe medication for use throughout treatment.

Today, the most popular addiction treatment centers are medically based. These centers also tend to be the most expensive. If you can afford it, or have health insurance willing to pay part or all of the costs, I recommend using a medical model treatment center. Having the advice and services of an addiction-trained physician is very valuable in the early stages of recovery.

Need To Research Potential Options

However, it is a good idea to research the facility before signing up. In your research, pay special attention to the doctor or doctors they have on staff. Are they ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) certified? Do they actually have any experience in addiction treatment? A doctor with limited knowledge or experience with addiction can actually make your problems worse by prescribing you highly addictive medications. And it is dangerous to assume that just because the doctor is working at an addiction treatment center that he or she must be an addiction specialist. Many drug and alcohol abuse treatment centers help cut costs by hiring any doctor they can find!

Also, when looking for a drug or alcohol rehab center, look into the kinds of services they offer. If you have any say in the matter, look for a center that provides a variety of different kinds of therapy, exercises, nutritional information, mediations, etc. An alcohol and drug addiction treatment center provides plenty of resources will help you to customize your recovery a little more, which increases the chances of finding a form of treatment that works for you.

You can find out almost anything you need to know about herbs, vitamins, minerals, and other dietary supplements by going to any number of sources.

There are a number of books that have been published about herbs that are available from your local library, book stores like Barnes & Noble or borders, or online from Amazon and other book retailers. You can also go to various websites that have a great assortment of information about herbs, including growing tips, how to cook them, and how to use them to make skin care items, such as lotions and fragrances, or how to use them in aromatherapy. There is much to learn about herbs and how they have been used historically; there was a time before pharmaceuticals became available that natural herbal remedies were the only option. The passage of time and the introduction of modern medical treatment to the masses have led people away from natural herbal treatments and toward expensive prescription medications instead.

Viable Herbal Solutions

A good site to visit is Viable Herbal Solutions at www.viable-herbal.com, for an extensive overview about herbs, for what conditions individual herbs have been proven to be helpful, including possible side effects and interactions with other herbs, supplements, and prescription medications. For example, St. John’s wart is a natural anti-depressant that should not be used in addition to prescription anti-depressants or anti-axiolytics (used to treat anxiety), and can cause photosensitivity in some users. You should always tell your health care provider what you are taking, including all over the counter preparations, herbal supplements, and dietary aids, in addition to prescription medications. You may just find that you are able to reduce the amount of medication you are currently taking after you initiate naturopathic therapy, and it may be worth your while to consult a naturopathic physician about herbs and what would be right for you.

Consult Local Health Food Grocer

If you want to learn more about herbs and how to grow and preserve them, choosing which herbs to grow, creating indoor and outdoor gardens, herb garden designs, using herbs for decoration, and how to preserve herbs for various uses, herbologists and other individuals knowledgeable about herbs and their uses are usually available at your local health food store or organic grocer and can answer most questions you may have about herbs. Get back to basics and natural living by learning more about herbs and how you can use them to improve your health and well being. Learn about herbal treatments and natural herbal remedies. Become your very own herbal expert by learning everything you can about herbs and open yourself to a whole new way of life – one of better health!
